About This Dog for Adoption
Bertie's ideal home
Bertie is a bright, enthusiastic young dog whose zest for life makes him a wonderful match for a moderate to active home. He would thrive with people who enjoy walking, enrichment activities, and ongoing training, and once he settles, he can be wonderfully calm and affectionate. He gets especially excited when he sees other dogs, so a home that can offer both fun and structure will help him shine.
As a large, lively youngster, Bertie absolutely loves people. Because he can be a bit exuberant when excited, he’ll do best in a household with secondary‑school‑aged children, though confident, dog‑savvy younger children may also be suitable depending on experience and management.
He’ll benefit from having a private, secure garden to play and relax in, as well as access to quieter walking areas where he won’t meet too many dogs. His new family should be happy to continue his training, especially around dog‑dog greetings and helping him manage his excitement.
Bertie is looking for a home where he can enjoy being the only dog and receive all the love and attention he deserves.
Could you be Bertie's perfect match?
Bertie is a wonderful one‑year‑old Boxer, Rottweiler cross who has come into our care through our Homestay scheme following a change in his owner’s circumstances.
Bertie is friendly, affectionate, and absolutely adores people. He loves a good fuss and will happily lean in for cuddles and attention. Playful and soft‑natured, he enjoys his toys and is great fun to spend time with.
He already has some brilliant skills under his belt — he is housetrained, crate‑trained, and settles comfortably when left, especially when given some enrichment to keep him busy.
Bertie is also a good traveller. He’ll hop into the car (sometimes with the encouragement of a tasty treat!) and travels nicely in the boot.
