About This Dog for Adoption

Gunner's ideal home

Gunner is looking for a home with fun loving and active adopters who can take him on adventures, exploring the great outdoors and lots of fun play and training to keep him busy. Although he is a big lad, he is still a baby at heart and can be a little worried by loud noises, he is looking for reassuring adopters who can help him build his confidence. He can live with children aged 14 years and over are comfortable with a large, playful dog and can give him space to rest when he needs. Gunner is friendly lad and could live with an established dog who is happy to engage in play with him, this will be pending successful meetings at the centre, living with another dog is not a necessity, he would love to have friendly walking buddies, he cannot live with cats, birds or other small furries. Gunner has a little training under his belt, he does a lovely “sit”, and is keen to learn more in short and sweet sessions for a tasty treat as he can get a little distracted. He has been housetrained in the past, so may just need a refresher so a private, secure garden is needed. He can get a little worried being left alone, so is looking for adopters who are home most of the time initially. He could potentially be left for up to an hour, this would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle into his new home. Gunner will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Could you be Gunner's perfect match?

Meet our powerful pup Gunner, a 1 year old Rottweiler with a heart of gold. He loves to play and chase around with balls, happily playing by himself or with his favourite people and having zoomies when excited. He sometimes likes to carry a teddy around with him. He is a friendly boy and loves a cuddle, he likes a fuss all over and he can get all wiggly and silly. He is a very foodie boy and is not fussy on the type of food he can sniff out, he takes treats gently from the hand. This top lad is looking for his new home right now.

Rottweiler Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Rottweiler.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Rottweiler Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
